In order to create a Course Instructor the LMS plugin must be installed and activated. After doing so, you will notice the Instructor options in your Dashboard:
You can add a new instructor by selecting the Add New option. This will open a page where you can input your instructor’s name, featured image and content. This content can be anything you want, such as the instructor’s experience, certificates, etc. This content is built using the WPBakery Page Builder just like with any regular page:
Here is how this is reflected in the front end:
You will notice that there is also an option to select a category for each instructor:
Categories let you sort your instructors into groups based on a certain criteria. Creating categories for instructors is similar to creating categories for blog posts. Just navigate to Instructors > Instructor Categories and there you will see the standard categories fields, such as category title, category slug, parent category dropdown and category description. Once you’ve created a new category it will be available in the Instructor Categories when creating a new instructor.
Another thing to note is the content below the featured image of the instructor:
You can input this information in the Instructor Info section when creating a new instructor:
The first option in the section lets you set an image which will be shown on your pages in the Instructor List element (shortcode).
The Title, Brief Vita, Email and Resume are all displayed below the featured image. There are also 5 Social Link fields below these options, and these enable you to add your instructor’s social media to this content.
Once you’ve created an instructor, he or she becomes available in the Course Instructor dropdown list when creating a course.
Please note that creating a new instructor doesn’t mean you’ve created a new WordPress user. You’ve only added a new page that displays the information about an instructor and enables you to choose him as the main instructor for a course.
