Before you proceed with importing the demo content and start setting up your website, you should first register and activate your theme.
In order to activate your copy of the theme, you should input your purchase code and email address into the theme’s registration form, and thus effectively register the theme. To do this, please navigate to Dashboard > [Theme name] Dashboard and input the required information there.
In case you are unsure where to find your purchase code, here’s how to go about the fairly simple process of locating it:
- Log into your Envato Market account.
- Hover the mouse over your username at the top of the screen.
- Click ‘Downloads’ from the drop-down menu.`
- Click ‘License certificate & purchase code’ - available as PDF or text file (please note that you are required to click Downloads from your dropdown first).
You can find more info about this here.
Note that you are not required to separately register any of the plugins which came bundled with the theme.
You should keep in mind that in case you used your purchase code to register one installation, you are required to deregister in order to use the purchase code on a different installation.
Note that you should also make sure to activate and register your copy of the theme before proceeding to the demo import process.
Another thing worth mentioning is that, if you are planning to reinstall your WordPress again, you should deregister the theme beforehand. One more useful feature in the [Themename] Dashboard is the System Info section. Here you can see a practical overview of your theme and server configuration. In addition to this, if any parameters do not meet the theme requirements, they will be marked in red, and the minimum required value will be displayed alongside it. In case some of your values do not meet the theme minimum and you are unsure how to change them, you can contact your hosting provider to perform the adjustment for you.
Important notice: This article is relevant only for the themes with the new integrated Demo Module. You can check whether your theme has the new Import Module by going to your dashboard. In case you can see [Themename] Dashboard located at the top left in the user admin screen, your copy of the theme has the new Import Module and the theme Activation/Registration should be handled as described in this article.
